I totally just came across this awesome artist, on Ebay! See, my winter break is coming to an end (one week from today I have to be back at work), and in my head I’m thinking “oh NOO, I still need artwork for my landscape gallery wall for the master bedroom, but I am running out of time to go treasure hunting!!!” So I checked ebay (because it’s way faster than driving all the way across town to a new peddlers mall). And artists totally sell their work on Ebay.
A lot of it is ugly, or generic, or overpriced swirly trees on large canvases labeled “modern”.
But, I found this artist to be super reasonably priced, and despite the subject matter being landscapes, I find his work to be both beautiful and interesting. I love the brush strokes, the cute little canvases he uses, the huge variety of options to fit any color scheme, and the “glow” his work has due to his ability to capture light on the canvas and also due to painting on site. Oil Paintings by Ken Burnside. On Ebay.
His prices range from $7 for a tiny 2.5 x 3.5 inch painting, to $37 for a 9 x 12 inch painting. Not bad at all.
Here are some of his pieces that I have my eye on..
Ken Burnside, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Oil painting, $7 + free shipping
Ken Burnside, 6 x 6 inches, Oil Painting, $17 + free shipping
Ken Burnside, 4 x 6 inches, Oil Painting, $13.50 + free shipping
I still plan to check out 2 more peddlers malls, and of course the KENTUCKY FLEA MARKET, that’s only here for TWO MORE DAYS!! I am hoping to find 3-4 more original landscape artworks for my gallery wall from either the flea market, or the peddlers mall. But, after that, I am sure there will be lots of “gaps” and random white space in the landscape gallery wall that will need to be filled in, which is why Ken Burnside’s mini oil paintings will come in handy.
