I am currently working on my official website for “Dahl House Interiors”. Well, it’s not actually me who is working on it, I have no idea how to do that kind of thing. But in the meantime, I will be using my blog for all things related, including design services. I’m not getting rid of my blog, but it will just become part of the website. Or something like that. Soon, I will hopefully have a more professional looking website that contains the same content, displayed in a more beautiful and professional way. But, These things take time.
You can click here to see the list of services. But no need to really, because I am about to tell you all about it.
The services were easy and obvious to come up with. It was the pricing the was soo difficult. For months and months I have been trying to figure it out and discussing it with people and getting opinions but also looking deep into my thoughts to figure it out as well.
Right now, because I am working another full time job, I am only offering E-design Services. An E-Design service provides the client with accessible design advice that sets the framework for a single room, for a set fee. All work is completed via telephone and email. All that is needed from the client is a completed design questionnaire, a budget, and images and dimensions of your room.
[Full Service E-Design: For bedrooms, living rooms, and nurseries]
Flat Fee: $170.
[E-Design Service for Foyers/Entryways and Small Bathrooms]
This service excludes renovations, and is intended only for color scheme/Décor Purposes.
Flat Fee: $80
[E-Design for Event Tablescapes]
This is for the client who needs a beautiful table for a specific event, such as a holiday dinner, work party, or any other special occasion. I will work with your existing space and event theme to come up with the appropriate tablescape.
Flat Fee: $80
Day ahead set up: Additional $75
Included in your design package:
The fee’s were very thought out. I know to some people, these fee’s are less than normal, but for now I am really okay with that. I don’t feel “under paid”. Yet. For others, the fee’s seem too pricey. Uh yeah, this is not for you then.
And now, a list of other things equivalent to the price I am charging. Let’s just round it to $200.
How to decide on a budget for your space:
Really consider the items that are needed to make your space complete and beautiful. First you have the larger items like furniture- including sofas, shelving, nightstands, beds, coffee tables, etc. You may already have existing furniture, but more will probably need to be added. Then there is floor and window treatments including curtains, rugs, shades, etc. Next is the Wall space which includes art and photos and paint (and perhaps the hiring of someone to paint if necessary or wanted). Then comes pillows, blankets, bed treatment (if it’s a bedroom). Lastly, accessories. Lighting, styling accessories, and small details.
With an E-Design, you are free to spend the money as you wish. The products are laid out for you, and if you really wanted to, you could purchase these items throughout a month or two. Although I can’t be responsible for items that are out of stock or discontinue if you wait to long. The only item that will need to be purchased immediately are those “urgent purchase” items. These items are meant to save you money and stretch your budget without sacrificing quality or beauty. I often find wonderful items on ebay and craigslist that are in perfect condition.
How it works:
Contact me via email or Facebook with this information:
1. Your budget
2. What service you are interested in
3. The room you are needing to re-do
4. A short summary of your style and what you would want the room to become.
5. What items in the room are you planning to keep.
6. Pictures (if you have them) of the space.
7. 1-2 inspiration photos (only if you have them).
If I think we are a good fit then I will send you a client questionnaire for you to fill out. (yes I know how crazy stuck up that sounds, but sometimes people aren’t a good fit. It may be that your budget is too small to design a whole room around, or that our styles completely clash.) I will also send you an invoice at this time for the set fee.
Once you send your questionnaire, and I receive payment (ugh I hate discussing money), I will go on to create the entire mood board, room layout, product list and budget breakdown.
Look over the mood board, send me any concerns so that I can change them to make you happy!
Once you are happy with the package, my job is done. Then, go out and purchase items and start decorating!
Basically, without being a crazy pushy business person (like those people who work at Lucky Jeans), I am really trying to convince you that you need my services. Like I would put my whole heart into it and would definitely make sure you love your space.
