Art Progressions : Leopard Flats Painting

I have these really awesome Leopard Print flats, that I kind of wear to much, and they are kind of falling apart. But, whatever. For my office, I was for some reason, loving the idea that I could turn my Leopard flats into an art piece. Leopard and Pineapples go together, right? The answer is yes, they do.

I wanted the painting to be simple, and fashion illustration-esque.

So, almost dead center, I drew the shoes. Leaving a lot of white space.

The painting was done with mostly water. Very little actual paint was used. Which is what I wanted.

After painting the shoes, I felt that the painting needed more. Especially, since the canvas would be displayed on a white wall. It needed a black border, to separate the white canvas, from the white wall. Below, I tapped off the edges, to make a perfect border.

Tah-Dah! Oh, and one more detail was added. Below the shoes, I wrote, “In my leopard flats I will walk.”
